there's plenty out there would give their left tit for a job, me included.
not flaming at all, just showing that the alternative to work ain't much fun either.

I love my job, pays me well enough, allows me the opportunity to travel to far flung places and gives me the flexibility to fit in mid week rides at least two or three times a week if I want.

Plus, I have a job unlike so many poor buggers that have been made redundant through no fault of their own.

MTFU and get on with earning a wage.

You can still have crap days at work despite being grateful to have a job. I know I do.

I hate my job, I'm taking a 20% cut in wages from tomorrow, BUT it's still a wage and they've offered me training. On balance I think I should be grateful but..

Can we suggest a hierachy of money/work relationships:

Best - no work, plenty of money
Good - some work, plenty of money
Acceptable - no work, some money
Acceptable - some work, some money
Acceptable - plenty of work, plenty of money
Acceptable - plenty of work, some money
Bad - no work, no money
Worst - work, no money

Most people would, presumably, rather be doing less work in exchange for more good things if they had the choice.

MTFU and get on with earning a wage.

How very protestant. I suspect people who have really manned up do not earn wages at all...

Knowing that someone else is worse off than you isn't always a comfort if you're going through a bad patch at work.

You wouldn't tell a man who'd just lost a leg in a car accident to MTFU because there was someone else he didn't know who just lost two legs would you?

Everyone has a right to air their frustrations.

What is this "protestant work ethic" thing? I have never heard of this.

Do explain.

😆

My main gripe was with the fact i'm in a artificially lit room albeit very well air condisioned room where as I would rather be getting myself suitably dehydrated zooming about on two wheels. Hey its quite likely i'll be unemployed in just over a month, but i still wish i could have money for nothing.

You're right, I think there are too many options in the acceptable bracket.

also be aware of the dangers of " a blister on your little finger, maybe a blister on your thumb".
OSH have leaflets for the above.
