Went round to my local Threshers off licence today to buy my Christmas booze, only to find they all closed in 2009.

Woolworths used to be the 6d shop (6 pence old money). It's gone now & the £1 /99p shops have sprung up - was it ahead of its time?

I'll never buy so much as a Marathon from Safeway again. Last time they crushed my Watneys Party 7 so it spilled all over the back seat of my Austin!
