16sqm of log lap arrived today.
Needs protected from the elements.
My normal solution of spent engine oil won't cut it as it actually has to look nice....for that I've been informed that light grey would be preferable ......fence is cedar colour -extensions actual cedar so want to contrast/complement as it ages.....oh and one wall of the shed is anthracite reversed 32/1000 box profile
The log lap that's shown up has heaps of great looking grain through out so want to retain that rather than painting it.
Osmo exterior oil is my current front runner...... Any advances ?
I've been using Protek Royal Exterior wood paint on my shed for the past 5 years. Seems to hold up very well. I have just had to repaint the sides that get direct sun every other year.
Features:
• Long-lasting protection
• Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds)
• Low odour
• Water-based with linseed oil – natural renewable resource
• Translucent – allows wood grain to show through
• Rich long-lasting colour
• Water resistant with mould and fungal protection
• Microporous high-build coating

Demi.dekk is great. I use it on my wooden windows.
But alas no grain will be visible !
I used this on mine 6 years ago, the sun catching sides do need a repaint but I'm happy with the results, not sure what colours they have as I used black.

Sadolin Superdek is really good. Really nice to apply and lasts very well. Was recommended to me by a landscaper friend and I was really happy when I used it on my shed. Obsidian is a fab mid-grey colour.
Osmo exterior oil basalt grey won. 65quid for what I needed.
Everything j looked at that was cheaper was either paint or needed another product before or after.
low rent option of fence treatment? apologies if far too common for STW!
I've got 50m of half 4ft half 6ft dual sided hit and miss......up one side of the house.
I use the above with the ronseal sprayer.... So quick.i watch the wind and hang a tarp behind to prevent over spray
