Careful Mr RichPenny, you will strain your eyeballs.
Excellent work sputnik...you've posted more nonsense than a_a today 8)
Like when I said England would beat the All Blacks ā
*would* not will....this is stw ffs 8)
Tomorrow is going to be a tight one I suspect.
I will settle for a good game compared to the total shite that was today's games.
Italy were not good, scotland not much better, same goes for wales and france.
The wales - france game was awful. Apart from one good try it was all kick it up the other end, and Adam Jones is going to get nailed for boring in at pretty much every scrum as soon as the refs start watching
English is my second language Tom š³
Ninja edit ftw
Many apologies...as it typical enlgandshire resident, it's my only language š³
Yeah I'm not sure any refs have ever watched Adam Jones before. The young pup will be found out soon. Does anyone who knows anything about scrums actually know if tightheads bore in. I thought that was a looseheads job.
Ok, wrong name. it was Jenkins (sp?)
So this is the day when England humbles the Northrn hemisphere. Right? š
I have just watched the game again, it was a dull game but wouldn't call it shit. It was defensive stalemate, the really disappointing aspect was Frances lack of ambition. Someone might suffer a backlash š cliche cliche. Not sure why Adam keeped getting pinged the pitch was a joke and neither was binding. To be truthful I have have no idea what goes on in there.
Fair play Gogzilla took the try brilliantly.
What I dont get is why france put freddie at 10 and the play a power game with no flair. All they needed to do was kick to the corners and maul us to death. If Bigger or TrannyDuck had played ten they would have won.
Jenkins and Jones are hard to tell apart what with having such similar hair styles.
S****s at a_a š
Is gogzilla North? I never knew that!
I agree there AA, Michalak is a flair player, and was asked to run a bosh game (and defend at outside centre!?) game. Stupid idea.
Still, a wins a win. I'd take that given 8 straight defeats.
Onto the important match now. The better sides in action.
As a scotsman I'm very happy with yesterday, thought the forwards played a lot better and fronted up and as was said by the analysts the line speed in defence was excellent (you could even hear the lads shouting line speed through the ref's mic). Yes two tries were from our own half and the Scottish defence was poor just before Italy's 10 threw the interception pass to Hogg which could have so easily been a try for Italy. But we were in the Italian 22 3 times in the first half and came away with points on each occasion. Thought the back row were very good and the scrum was a lot better. A lot to be worked on still but a win.
As for Andy Nichol, I'll forever like the guy as he gave me a Scotland A playing jersey and tracksuit when I was a teenager in the pub in Elie, but listening to him is brutal, Dallaglio was trying so hard to balance the analysis from an Italian point of view. In saying that you're lucky you don't watch RTE with Tom McGurk, Brent Pope and George Hook!!
Yeah yeah. Just the names wrong. One looks like a member of the hair bear bunch and the other doesn't.
Jonathan Davies was more biased than usual yesterday. I caught him using the word "we" rather than Wales several time. Tbh his voice / chanting (num-bers) and assumption that the 10's can see his view from the commentary box is winding me up.
Looking forward to a totally unbiased view from the Pitbull thus afternoon š
I dont see Jiffy as biased more unashamedly pro wales. I'm sure I even heard Sir Clive say we.
The BBC commentaries are struggling wit remaining neutral these days (Eddie Butler was probably the last to do this well IMO) but as others have said its nothing compared with other countries. Try watching TF1!!!!
If you want a laugh go and look at Quade Cooper boxing on youtube, I use the word boxing in the loosest sense of the word.
for me Davies isn't a commentator, he's a fan. he gets too excited and resorts to just shouting at the Wales team, telling what they should do rather than explaining what is happening. you can tell he tries to rein it in, but just gets caught up in the moment.
difficult to call this afternoon's match; anything could happen really.
The BBC commentaries are struggling wit remaining neutral these days (Eddie Butler was probably the last to do this well IMO) but as others have said its nothing compared with other countries. Try watching TF1!!!!
The commentary on TF1 is abysmally one-eyed. Fortunately the rugby's on FR2, so there are a few less adverts, but still the same lack of objectivity from the pundits. To boot, they insist on dressing them up in the same clothes, so there they are in their neat duffel coats. Even GalthiĆ© looks like he's off to Sunday school. š
I'm sure I even heard Sir Clive say we.
Yep, it was plain that he was very much on Wales' side, as were many englishmen I'd guess. I didn't find jiffy too bad yesterday. Mind you, I'd had and hour and a half of nicol beforehand..... š
Moore's no better, guscott is a PITA but healey is so annoying. Listening to him trying to be funny is cringey.
Keith wood has to be my favourite.
I really have no idea what today's result will be, Ireland have a lot of experience compared to England and its in Dublin, so I reckon they'll probably take it. For all of the media bluster about England, they're nowhere near the finished article and losing a few games might not be the worst thing for them in terms of development.
Above all, I hope it's a good game. Good luck Ireland.
The beauty of the 6N at the moment is its unpredictability. I can easily see how this afternoon could be a comfortable win for the either side depending on who gets the early momentum, or a spine tingler based on Sexton vs Farrell's boots and one mistake/moment of brilliance. The obvious call is that the latter comes from either BOD or Tuilaga off the bench. But could it be Ryan or Launchbury? My heart is pounding already....in the end I expect home advantage to tell sadly, making the next few weeks even more intriguing.
To be fair to the pundits rte only broadcasts to Ireland, French tv to France, the BBC s goes all over UK so we are likely to see bias in any commentary.
To put the 6n pundits in context the disgrace to rugby that is calum Clarke was a pundit on sky for the saints v Gloucester match....no matter what jiffy nicol et al spout least they ain't him.
Think Ireland will sneak this today.
Just goes to show how rich the moral fibre is at Sky towers by allowing that poor example to humanity near a microphone. Shame on them.
Edit: Still can't get over St Andre bring Trinh Duc on at 15 rather than 10 as thats where he plays. If he wants to keep Michalak on the pitch so deperately, he should move him over to SH and prevent inflicting Parra on the team as a bonus. I'm hedging bets that he will do this against England in a fortnight.
They had no one else to cover 15.
Well, having just watched yesterday's games, it seems like Italy didn't want to become a new force in rugby after last week's heroics. That was a dire game, though good to see Scotland getting a few over the line, even wearing what looked like an NFL kit.
France-Wales was good. Though France were mystifyingly daft at times (and Wales had one or two England-esque "hoof it half heartedly up the middle and see what they do with it" moments), it was a good tense game. Pity about the pitch - it was starting to look like uncontested scrums would be the way to go, if only to get the game to move on a bit. Can the ref actually suggest that if the pitch just cuts up too much?
I also worry about 1/2p - there's brave, then there's stupid, and one of these days he will get seriously minced. Hopefully he won't, and it's good to watch whilst he doesn't. He simply doesn't seem to care if it's the entire front row about to land on his head šÆ
Oh, and I'm with just about everyone else - I can't see England coming out of Dublin with the points. It'll probably be close, but Ireland too good unless England can get a lot of points early.
I see England's biggest chance is to shut out the crowd and keep hold of he ball and run at BOD and Sexton. Eventually BOD will go off then we bring on Tuilagi.
I think Engand are fit enough to run heavy all round the fringes all match, and look for an opportunity.
Just heard that B.O.D. had a baby girl this morning and called her Sadie šÆ not sure he thought that through
**** me I'm nervous!
Me too!! Nice strong coffee to make the nervous system even more jangly!!! Enjoy everyone!
Agree with wrecker about Wood, best by far. Clever bloke, but also very self aware. He knows who he supports, but also offers a fair analysis.
The problem with Numbers (and Guscott et al) is that he dresses his bias up as analysis.
Have to say that of the others, Martyn Williams comes across brilliantly. He's obviously close to the current team, calling them by their first names in commentary, but doesn't pretend that he's not so he comes across really honest.
Looks like another buggered pitch today.
Got to agree with others, Keith Wood is probably the best, non biased commentator so far.
Odd start due to the formalities??? Quiet stroll out for England. At least the home team got a welcome.
Drop Kick Murphys šÆ WTF????
Go Roses Go!
Shamrocks all the way
Yes!
Good start...very good work up front again.
Wow, sin bin for Farrell??? At least pit bull was clear there!
I think we could be in for a great game here!
Neither team are holding back.
Yep good fun despite conditions!
bit of handbags
Disappointed by Healy. Pretty disgusting stuff.
He should be red carded for that one, bet the citing comissioner is busy after this match
Two sin bins missed on both sides now! š³ better for the game though
ok not red, def yellow.
Guess that evens it up
Exactly
Andy nicol! WTF? š
Feels like he's following me!
Wrecker, agreed. Nasty stuff.
Good tense battle here!
Yep some nasty stuff here...Haskell looks like a sin binning waiting to happen.
How many Irish errors? That used to be Engalnds trick? Phew!
How many errors from Ireland
Bloody hell, looks like they are digging an allotment, what a pitch
Is heaslip going to keep hold of one today?
Heaslip is having a mare!!!
Farrell you beauty!
Really enjoying this game.
See, an international rugby match can be played without every damn scrum resulting in a penalty. Credit to the forwards.
Oh, just seen a great plus for England! ROG coming on... yes!
Zebo and sexton off now.
Injury list is growing
On comes Calamity O Gara
+ 1 on scrums and sad injuries
ROG to have a blinder and win it for us!!
To be fair earls and o gara aren't bad replacements! I think the ref deserves credit for letting the scrum do what it needs to and letting the ball come out.
How many times are Ireland going to be allowed to stand up in the scrum?
I've got three drinks from Moore on feeds, don't need the Irish pop ups as well š
Another from Ross ffs!
Time for POM's angry face and shove
Healy again! He needs to be sorted ASAP one way or another. He's getting frustrated, Coles got him measured.
So its fine for Healey to swing at players on the floor too **** me ref
Healy should be off now, plus an elbow in the throat on the floor.
This is not going to end well I think
Wise up guys! He was resting his bulk
Haha, yeah nice one, I assume his foot was really heavy too so he had to drop it on someones ankle?
Imagine being a teacher and someone with POMs face come in one day one. You can just imagine trouble ahead!!! Aggressive little fella!!!!!!
Replacements could make a big impact on this due to the tiring conditions IMO
Shame Farrell missed that but keeps the excitement levels high.
If only his game was as good as his angry face
