Is Hook injured or just completely out of favour?
I'd have thought he'd be better bench cover for more positions.

It's a better selection but what's Scott Williams done to be dropped to the bench, I thought he was one of the better players on Saturday, and unless he's injured I don't understand why Hook isn't on the bench, I'd take him over priestland as cover ( and as starting 10 tbh).

Hook just isnt seen as a starting ten anymore not entirely sure why. Beck and Roberts is a good combo on paper.

Wrong; he obviously had "Sportsman's migraine" because if he was concussed, he would be out for a number of weeks. 🙄

Scotland team looking a bit better with the addition of God's prop. Kelly Brown lucky he is captain methinks.

Thats not the case anymore though is it. Rather than a set amount of time out they have to be medically assessed and past fit. I expect Dr Jaw did it himself!!

They really don't like tip tackles do they! Part of me thinks that it'd be a shame if stamping on someone's head was totally removed from the game 🙂

The fact he might have self diagnosed had crossed my mind A-A 😀

As for stamping;Don't confuse it with rucking a player out. I got 11 stitches in my head on two sites from somebody stamping on me. I had been tackled and put the ball back, oppo's drove back leaving me at the side trapped in the ruck. Blackheath no4 arrived and stamped on my head and face when both my arms were pinned.I now have a beaut off a scar on my forehead.
On the other hand I have been "recycled" more times than I can remember, few stud marks, club shirt sticking to your back, serves you right. Rucking an integral part of the game, stamping=assault.

As a ref I would be expected to stop it.IMO the better the standard, (with Clark like exceptions,) the cleaner it is.It is when you get 2xv lower club sides that seem to just want to get their jollys on a Sat from kicking lumps out of each other. A powerful incentive to move up the grades...(thinks back to refing touring Welsh teams v Fife teams...shivers....)

I played the Met police team once, they behaved like a bunch of animals and IMO shouldnt have been on the pitch.

I also got my coccix cracked in two by a Tunbridge Wells Centre who, after I chased and went down on a ball that sailed over my head, thought landing with his knee on my back was a good idea (something to do with the fact I lived in TW but played for another Kent Team)- the referee ignored the whole thing! I had the last laugh though, becuase with no Subs I stayed hobbling on the wing to later recieve a pop pass 10 yards from the line to score. I had to be lifted off the line by my team it was so bad.

I think Visser will be a stick on if he continues to score freely. 4 tries ,three caps ,two against the all blacks.
Denton has just come back from injury and played very well on Sunday. He will be there or there abouts come the summer. Same with Kelly Brown.
I don't rate Ritchie Gray that highly. He struggles in the tight and around the breakdowns.Although it is good to have a 6"10, 20st flanker running about the pitch, he doesn't hit like one or burst through tackles like he should. Runs well in the loose though.
Injuries will dictate the starting lineup for the lions not neccesarily form.

Predictions for this week are brought to you by the reckless power of lunchtime beers.

Wales to win by 5-12
Australia to win by less than 7
Ireland to win by about 20
Scotland to win by less than 3 (with Visser to get another 2 tries)

The France v 'tina doesn't seem to be on anywhere... thought I would be on ESPN... I'm getting a tad annoyed by these pay for TV stations not actually broadcasting what they promise!

I'm sure a dodgy Frenchman will sort a stream or 70 out! 😉

I am a staunch England supporter, but despite that I honestly believe they are going to put one on the Aussies tommorrow.

I'll put a fiver each on:

a) England Scrum domination and
b) A win to England

a) England Scrum domination

Crap odds on that;

I have put a 50p double on Warburton to play 80mins and Handsome Gav to play for Wales again. If it comes up I will be buying a small African state with the winnings.

Live on BBC Two Wales, S4C, BBC Radio Wales, Radio Cymru and online; live text commentary and score updates on the BBC website

so if its live on S4C it will be on the S4C website too, you'll just have to do your own commentary if you dont wibble

Your right Duckman this thread needs more Gavin

I have a suspiscion he might be asked to go on the summer tour when the Lions are away if he continues to improve.

Well two grand slams and a lions test cap aint a bad return, he's also been injured a lot. Did Marcus Trescothic waste his talent too?

Trescothick is known for suffering, he doesn't appear to have been the architect of his own downfall. By all accounts he is a decent bloke, was a pivotal member of the England team, instrumental in challenging some of the old ways and helping England on the path to their recent success. Played for one club where he is a favourite with staff and fans alike. Very few dissenting voices throughout his career.

Gav on the other hand has a far more chequered past, more like Peiterson who the Saffas nicknamed FIGJAM appropriately!

Just googled figjam and thats appropriate and what makes me think Henson is a bit, well nuts. He has incredible faith and arrogance in his rugby talent and yet is so insecure painfully so at times.

That's a poor return for his talent given the quality around him for Wales over what should have been a decent length career, too much celeb nonsense, strictly come dancing and running his mouth off. I was in the stadium when he kicked the winning penalty for Wales against England, he should have many more stories like that to tell.

AA - he may have but is not honest enough with himself to admit them maybe?

Too wrapped up in himself, which is how I imagine a lot of 'celebs' are. Surround themselves with people who say yes and just inflate their egos, rather than tell it like it is.

Rugby has a fair few who tell it straight and I suspect that that is one of the reasons Gav has had a few clubs as management haven't tolerated his behaviour. He may be waking up to that now but too late to fulfil his ability.

If you want to use Trescothick as an example he was destined to be a good county cricketer, but got a taste for international cricket and decided he wanted more. Worked hard to make the most of his ability.

He may have admitted it to himself and many other people just not us.

running his mouth off

examples? other than saying what he thinks about rugby and saying he thinks he's a very good player I've never heard him say much about the opposition. Certainly not like the crap some england players have come out with. I think you are letting your views about his celeb shite colour your views.
