Ok, so not GoT, and apart from the hopefully good weather effects of the next post hurricane to hit us, can anyone recommend a decent wind and waterproof jacket that can stand up to the best Scotland can throw at it?
Something that won't boil me when I'm lugging myself to the top of big Ayrshire hills
Moon on a stick I know but would welcome your recommendations

I have an altura attack one which is OK, but tbh I don't like riding in a full jacket unless it's a last resort - serious weather going down for a prolonged period.
Prefer a softshell with detachable arms, plus a roadie-type small, packable waterproof in the back pocket. Not cracked the second part of this yet, been packing a shimano rain-cape thing that's been a bit ropey. Was looking at the endura adrenaline gilet as a possibility.

riding same area as OP.

Endura windchill jacket for most of the winter, unless proper cold or proper wet when I use an Endura Stealth. I do have an Altura Attack shell but hardly use it as prefer a breathable softshell

What's GoT?

Agree with those above, I also prefer a softshell unless it's really hammering down, in which case I have an old Gore XCR something or other jacket that does pretty well but is still warm (or I just don't go out).

Mostly I use an even older Gore something or other softshell jacket, I'd say it's showerproof at best but it is very windproof. IME you're going to get wet whatever you wear so as long as the wind chill can't get you you're OK.

was thinking about this myself. I have the Mayhem jacket but whatever the condotions, im to hot in it after the first climb... i need something much more breathable and most-of-the-year-roundish? Royal Racing Matrix jacket looks all right but appear to be a bit rare?

If you want the best breathability, look for a jacket made from eVent. Rab or Montane for starters.
