Was supposed to be riding this evening but due calloffs now going tomorrow instead. So an unplanned evening in and eying up the wine rack. Tuesday night though, kinda goes against my usual rule of no booze on a school night..... Silly rule or ? ... 😀

Meh. You're here once, if you want a beer/wine/G&T, have a beer/wine/G&T.

A glass of red won’t hurt... in fact if anything, it’ll help you get a good nights sleep!

The whole bottle however might be a different story come the morning...

Do it! I find sticking to the colourless spirits or white wines best for working the next day.

Well I had a delivery of wine yesterday and thought stuff it I fancy a bottle, by 20:30 said bottle had disappeared. 21:00 just getting the wife to bed & get called out by one of my staff so I got him to come and collect me.

So I then was at work till 7am having no sleep for 25 hrs & get a taxi home.

Decided that another glass would help my sleep 😀

Everyone my age seems to drink 7 night a week these days almost in denial about units etc.

I personally won’t, I don’t drink much but I won’t enjoy it if I’m thinking about work the next day.

Mrs K bought some cheap Port for moistening the Christmas cakes.

It's quite nice.

I was drinking a bottle of red pretty much every night until quite recently. Didn't notice any negative effects, just got a bit bored of red wine. This thread is making me thirsty though...

Yeah I had a quick word with my son at the start of the new term and he has agreed that 3 bottles of White Lightening on a school night is more than enough for a 14 year old ..

😀

I went out to the garage and did a few bits of bike fettling instead, which removed the idea and temptation. Glass of diluting juice now !

Got a txt from a mate last night, apparently we had an incident a work yesterday so "random" D&A tests will take place across the area today, so I was a good boy last night.

^^^^^ hahaha 🙂 I read some of that thread with interest ! Normally a bottle of red over a couple of nights at the weekend, and the odd glass of whisky or a G&T does me.

Strangely felt like a midweek one last night, no idea why, but bike fettling happened instead. Need to shed a few pounds at present so will leave it till the weekend so I don't get the drink munchies .. 🙂

A school night is the RIGHT night to drink for me.

I'd rather be rubbish the next day on work's time, as opposed to wasting my own time.

Have fun

^^^ at my grand age I get a hangover after about 3 glasses of wine, so moderation has to apply

This makes a lot of sense.

I'm not a huge drinker in the week. Normally have a beer on a wednesday and a pint or two (or three) on Friday lunchtime.

Weekend evenings I only ever have one, we've been spreading a bottle of wine over two nights recently because Mrs P keeps getting pissed off half a bottle 😆

Normally out at least one night a week. I need to either not drink much, or get to bed at a reasonable hour.

If I've drunk a lot on not much sleep the next day is a write off...

Working a 6 on 4 off pattern, I love the disapproving looks I get when I stagger out of the pub at 6pm on a Tues!

I don't drink the night before morning shifts, a limit of 2 the night before afternoon shifts and nothing before night shifts.

My thinking, which was taught to me by my FIL (ex BA long haul pilot), is stop drinking 12hrs before reporting for duty.

stop drinking 12hrs before reporting for duty.

Which is fine if you haven't been drinking for a solid 12 hours.

I have a couple of bottle of Oakham Ales Citra for this evening. I have a later start than usual tomorrow morning, I have to take my daughter to school. Yes, I will be drinking on a school night.

If I fancy a drink of alcohol I just have one, had a couple of glasses of wine last night and it's no big deal.

I don't regularly drink mid week but if I want one I have one.

tonight's night looks like it may get rained off.

Did someone say MTFU earlier 🙂

....indeed, but muddy manky Mugdock isn't particularly appealing even when it's not raining at the moment Gary !
