Been trying to disable the touch screen on my Linx tablet. Followed Google advice and disabled HID compliant touch screen through Device Manager, also tried USB Composite Device through Settings. Neither seems to work, the touch screen is still functional. I did manage to uninstall it once under Human Interface Devices>>HID-compliant touch screen. When I have managed to disable it, it is 're-installed or enabled on restarting.
I want to get rid of it and just use a mouse as it interferes with the cursor position as I am typing.
Any advice/suggestions?
Just realised I don't mean touch screen, should be touchpad.
Also found a work-around by taping a piece of plastic over the touchpad so it isn't accessible.
Start Key > Type "Device Manager" > Open "Human Interface Devices" > Right click on Touchpad > Disable Device
I don't know this device, but there's usually an option on one of the function keys to disable the touchpad, maybe...
@fooman tried this but it is just re-enabled next time you start.
Probably either a setting in the Bios (UEFI?) or control panel - mice
@zzjabzz Function key + F9 = disable touchpad. Great, thanks.
