I've got my laptop connected to a large HDTV to use on a turbo trainer via HDMI lead.
Whenever i open up the trainer program (zwift of Bigring VR in my case) i have to resize the window to fill the TV screen. If i just use the maximise button on the window it oversizes it so i end up with some data missing on the edges of the screen.

So is there a way to stretch the app window to the size i want and then get windows to remember this each time i open the app? Its not exactly a major problem just a bit annoying having to do it each time i want to use it

Ive currently got the 2 displays set as 'extend desktop', i've tried 'duplicate' but still the same problem.

Thanks

If you're overshooting the edges of the screen then the issue there isn't the window size, it's a TV setting.  Look for something like "overscan" on the TV and disable it.

Failing that, frob the aspect ratio button until you find something that fits maybe.  If you got "scenes" or "modes" (eg, "cinema" / "game") try looking through those for something like "native" or "direct".

You want Extend rather than Duplicate on the laptop - Duplicate will try and find a compromise resolution for both screens.  Maybe even use Projector mode (Win-P should give you options, depending on Windows version).
