I very occasionally need to run a piece of Windooza-only software but don't want to have to have a pc with that scum of an operating system. Is there a Windows simulator that runs on Ubuntu? Cheers!

WINE

PlayOnLinux is a good front end for installing/running Windows games in WINE

Wine can be a PITA.

IF you have a spare copy of windows, then try virtualbox (free) to run a windows VM.

As the man says Run it in a virtualbox on a xp install... Easier than wine in the long run. Also means you can install office in the vb as needed when open office wont start something.

You may have some success with "Mono" if your program is a .Net type application. With version 2.6 I can run Sporttracks on OSX.
