Probably 5 years ago we bought a Dell Inspiron PC for our son.
My wife set his email account as administrator.
He never uses the PC and now I want it. I want to be able to just switch it on and use without have to use a login account. Is this possible?
Or if not possible how do I take him off and add my account?
Ta
Use his account to create yours. Promote it to admin. Log out as him and in as you. Remove him as a user.
Failing that, google "oobe".
Type Local Users and Groups... Rename "son" account to "daddy" 🙂

Depending on who has access to the machine, you might also want to create a non-admin account with no password and leave the admin account password protected.
I haven't tried to do it in years, but I suspect that creating a user with a blank password would be non-trivial.
I'm not sure why anyone would want to in any case. You can set a PIN and then enter it in a second, or use biometrics if the hardware is there to support it.

I set one of my PCs up without a password a few years ago. Eventually it started nagging me. So i ended up setting a simple PIN. Couldn't find any way to switch the nagging off.
Thanks all.
So set myself up as administrator and now the OC defaults to me. Annoying that I need to put a PIN number in but it will have to do.
Next thing is trying to stop it logging me directly in to edge etc, or do I just accept all my data is being raped from me anyhow and there is sod all I can do about it
Edge is easy enough to switch off. None of my computers log me into it (anymore).
Took a couple of passes to do, and it still asks me every now and again (usually after a major update) if i'd like to.
