My computer has started showing text as though cleartype (or whatever it's called) is disabled. Funny pixellated-looking characters.
If I select the text it corrects itself and they show smooth again (and they might do this if just left for long enough)

WTF's going on - is something trying to die inside the pc ?

Both of our laptops (one XP other W7 both running Mozilla Firefox) have been doing the same thing for the last week or so - wierd. No idea why, could it be a Mozilla update?

Right immediately I'd suggest the following.

1. Cleartype has been turned off.
2. You have some level of zoom turned on.

Number one should be a simple case of going to settings and checking that cleartype is still enabled.

Number two can be quickly checked by looking in the task bar and seeing if the zoom function has been enabled. (I'm on a MAC right now so can't check precisely)

I think it's happened outside of the browser as well but not sure

Sorry to say I'm glad you're affected too, though ! 😉

cleartype is ON - tried off and back on too

I've tried 100, 125, 150 % font sizes in windows, no effect

Within firefox, zooming (ctrl+/-) makes no difference

Ended up removing and reinstalling firefox, no effect

😐

It's the latest update for Firefox, there's a fix for it. Hang on.

Go to "about:config" in the address bar.

Find "gfx.content.azure.enabled" and set as "false".
