laptopsdirect.co.uk are very good. Used them a couple of times and offer an excellent service (and price).

Picked up an i3 W7 laptop for the mother in law for around £350 and that was 18 months ago so likely to be as cheap or cheaper now.

Also, if you see a deal on a W8 laptop - don't rule it out. Despite the [s]Metro[/s] Modern Interface its actually ok to use. Stable and quick.

Cheers

saveonlaptops and ndc(mostly Dell) are OK and Argos sometimes has good deals on ebay, though not really business laptops

I had to get rid of my W8 laptop for work as I hated the interface, much prefer w7 and 8 had a few integration problems with some of the tools I use. I think my good lady would hate it as she is not great with tech!

Will try laptops direct.

Good luck finding something new, I was down to the last 3 or 4 a few months back. Dell outlet for the spec and find a copy of win 7

I got a win 8 one and removed it with a crow bar and some c4 in the end. The MS protected boot stuff made it a little harder that and trying to do the install from a mem stick.

Loads on Dell outlet

Use the filter on the left to search for Windows 7. It gets updated around 2-2:30 every day, so just keep checking around then for the best deals. For mega bargains, filter on 'scratch and dent' as well - superficial scratches knock plenty more ££ off the price.
