Well I have just had a Windows 11 update.

It took 2.5 hours! Admittedly it's a pretty shitty and slow laptop but even so.

Bloody annoying.

None of the laptops in our house will run w11. I consider this a good thing!
(actually wife just changed jobs and has a new one… might be w11 already, but as it’s a work one I’ll never need to do anything to it.)

My updates just happen overnight so I barely notice them. Did you choose to apply this one during your day?

We've two new laptops that will run Win 11 (both i7's 10 and 11th gen)and possibly daughters gaming PC - new AND Rizen), but we've my 4th gen i7 laptop that wont and my sons overclocked 4th gen i7 gaming desktop that won't either, despite both being seriously quick.

Updates being updates. I just upgraded this new Mac to Ventura, also took ages. Not quite 2.5hrs but long enough to make me have to go and do something else.

We've got a not-that-old Surface Pro (maybe five years old?), I'm sure it's an i5 one, and it's telling me it's not suitable for W11 which surprised me for a bit.

My Surface Pro 4 is from er, 2016 maybe, and it's not supported. The reason is that you need a Trusted Platform Module or TPM version 2 and I think my SP4 only has TPM 1.2. It's not about the power of the hardware.

According to the MS website I think it's SP5 and later.
