You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I've recently got a new works laptop running Windows 10 Pro - after a few years on a Mac, I've come back to this and finding it a bit overwhelming. Things have changed a lot since Windows 95!!
Can anyone point me in the right direction for some basic tutorials etc?
Cheers
sorry, don't know where's best
I'm fairly sure you can install a "classic" desktop/shell for it to make it look a bit more familiar but if you've got time on your hands due to corona, learn the actual W10 - I think it's good
Loads of stuff on youtube.
Can anyone get more specific than youtube?
I would like to point my father in the direction of something. Either youtube based or an actual online course.
He uses a computer for internet browsing, email and banking but has recently shown interest in learning a bit more. Nothing major, stuff like Ctrl+X to cut rather than doing it all on the mouse and understanding that he is using programs to view files rather than the files being in the program - so you can use alternative programs to view a single file.
Any recommendations appreciated.
Click the Start button / press the Windows key, type what you want and you'll probably get it. Hunting through menus hasn't been a usability thing since Windows Vista.
Beyond that, window controls haven't changed much since Windows 3.1 of for that matter Mac. Happy to field specific questions.
Agree but what if you never really knew how to organise files or operate a computer and just used it in a walled garden environment just doing the things you have always done.
I am looking for a bit more of a structured approach tbh as that is what I fail to supply in 10 minute phonecalls.
On the Internet there are video lessons and simple instructions on how to perform a particular action in this OS.
