That was handy to know, thanks
The EPIC amount of work people do to not just run Linux 😀
The EPIC amount of work people do to not just run Linux
Some people like things to work without "simply edit this config file and recompile"
Free in the EEA. Another Brexit benefit.
Incidentally, I have another method but I probably can't talk about it here. PM me if you want details or, better yet, catch me on the socials if you know who I am there.

The EPIC amount of work people do to not just run Linux
The EPIC amount of work Linux users put in to troll every thread that mentions a different OS.
Incidentally, I have another method but I probably can't talk about it here.
Does it involve Linux or buying a Mac? Or, "I can do everything on my iPad?"
"Free in the EEA. Another Brexit benefit"
Free in the UK. I just enrolled for a year of updates in about 5 clicks.Â
I was able to update our old family laptop on Home edition but not my son's which has a version of Pro installed? Any idea of a way around this?Â
To enroll I think I need a Microsoft account, which I don't have.
I can sign up but will my world implode if I do? I seem to have managed without one until now.
So far I've managed to turn 4 Windows 10 laptops that can't run Windows 11 into 4 laptops that are running Windows 11 without any problems.Â
I've got a couple of old Windows 10 laptops I use most days and I was thinking I needed to do something about them. Thanks to this thread they're both enrolled in the 12 month support extension.
Thanks for that!
I sort of hope they conk out before I need to go through the palaver that Professor Hobo helpfully outlined above. I'm happy with what I've got now.
