Uploaded? Updated?

It's not launched until 29th July so any versions running now are not full general release by my reckoning - eg preview versions which may still be buggy.

Hmm. Both my machines running Windows 7 have acquired a little logo at the bottom right-hand corner that bears the legend "Get Windows Ten" when I hover the cursor over it.

Indeed. Woppit - that's the 'preorder' button - allows you to say you want it and then when it's available accept the download/update.

I've downloaded the preview and it looks ok.
Very similar to 8 with a few tweaks.
Not had the chance to use it a lot though.

Mate has just installed a dodgy version of win8, I told him to upgrade to ten when possible but he hasn't had the win10 "button" appear yet, but... it's not updating at all currently. Will MS be rolling it out to the pirates later or will he not get it if updates aren't working? (it's working ok otherwise, online and usual apps working)

Tried a bit of googling but didn't come up with anything.

From what I've read, dodgy versions of windows may well get the upgrade to 10 but not get updates thereafter.
