We're off to Winchester for a few days, anyone have any recommendations for good little back street boozers, country pubs, nice little restaurants and anywhere else in our near the town to get stuff to eat and drink?
The Vine used to do a decent pint , ditto the BlackBoy which i a must see imo.
There are dozens of pubs and restaurants that are great .

The Bush, Ovington. Not far away, and always good.
Milburys is supposed to be decent, nice little ride from Winchester heading towards Beacon Hill.
The Wykeham Arms is great pub/ restaurant - just a stones throw from the cathedral and the college.
Restaurants, try palm pan Asia or kyoto kitchen, when you get bored of pub food.
Breakfast, try Forte kitchen or the dispensary kitchen.
Never realised how many places ended in "kitchen" until I wrote that.
To add to the pubs, the willow Tree has been really good in the last couple of years.
If you want a good walk, follow the river upstream. Villages with pubs all the way, the pubs vary from fine to very good.
