Anyone watched it yet?
No but it's on my list, Have fond memories of the film. Just hope its good.
So not the cute witch/sexy vampire from Buffy then? 🙁
yeah, love the original, re-watching that + the series is my weekend binge-watching sorted!!
initial reviews are favourable!
Warwick Davis/Tree. .Hard to tell the difference. They named that character well.
Other than his horrific acting, much of it is ok, though a bit predictable in some scenes.
More fun and faster moving than rings of power.
Predictable so far.
I enjoyed episodes 1 and 2 in the absence of Andor.
Never seen the film so I reckon I'll start the series next. Still got the last Andor and Peripheral to watch - hopefully tonight.
It seems okay but I agree that Warwick Davis acting if terribly wooden in it. Watched the film with my eldest too and don’t think it has aged very well. Fantasy films and series seem difficult to do well.
Rewatched the original and couldn’t remember why I used to enjoy it so much 😂 Maybe it was Val Kilmer’s cheesy acting which used to be funny but is now just bad! Agree it’s not aged well. Watched the first ep of the new series, all the acting is atrocious & not even gotten to WD yet!
Big fantasy fan, I even enjoyed Rings of Power, still love the original movie...
I'm on episode 2 and it's weary, cheese dawsons creek teens, godawful dialogue, poor, poor acting.
The story itself isn't terrible but the rest is grating
I'll keep watching though
Roll on the final series of Carnival Row!
Agreed, he's been good in things like Extras, but he's baaad in this
I have given up on watching it, got to ep 3.
I persevered to the end and enjoyed it. The acting throughout is generally poor, but it's quite funny in places. Totally predictable but I'll watch the next series when that comes out.
So not the cute witch/sexy vampire from Buffy then? 🙁
Don't watch the American version of Penn and Tellers' Fool us.You will be sadly disappointed...
I was going to watch it with my kids because they loved the film. But the film was a PG and the new series is a 15. Whose stupid idea was that?
Maybe the series deals with the more gritty nature of trying to get a magician to help save the world...suspect the drinking is due to failed spells and doves not appearing from sleeves, etc...it might be more documentary.
