Or, "if you only watch one video today of a mad Finnish bloke with a blender and a kilo of thermite, make it this one."

I've always fancied sticking the Henry hose in a can of petrol and turning it on. Might get to try it one day with a knackered old vac.

I'm not clear what they were actually intending to do other than blow up some thermite?

yeah, given they stuck a fuse in it, what was the point of the blender? (admittedly watching with the sound off and scrolled to the money shot...)

That's what their channel's about - blending stuff. (IIRC from my child showing me a video some time ago)

Wrong channel.

This one is a Finnish guy who does daft stuff.

I'm with the others what did he expect the thermite to do in a closed container? She was right there was an explosion.

I know the video is called "Will it Blend/Explode" but I think they know it will/won't before they start. It's kinda the humour da kidz are into these days. Whereas we would've fallen about laughing at an elephant plopping on Valerie Singleton's slingbacks, their tastes are slightly more er... sophisticated.

A 2 minute video dragged out to 8 minutes. Must be the same producer of the Starwars franchise.

It's a sort of evolutionary thing.

Yeeeears ago someone had a YT channel called "will it blend" this was a vehicle to sell some very expensive blenders the person was selling, I've sure they used magnets or something.

Anyway, he would introduce almost impossibly strong / heavy things into this blender to see what would happen - spoiler, it would smash them to bits or I suspect he wouldn't put it on YT.

The channel became popular so he progressed to blending expensive things like the latest iPhone and stuff - why? Well if your blender can blend a snooker ball for example then an iPhone doesn't present much of a challenge does it? But it seems people just like seeing expensive shit get destroyed, but YT pays people (quite handsomely for a tiny few of them) the more people watch - there's other channels where people crush things with massive presses, drop molten metal on them etc. I guess it answers the questions than normal people won't answer because, well who wants to put a £1000 iPad into a blender just to see if it blends and Science won't answer because it has no scientific merit.

So, in short, what's the point in the blender? Well it ties into the whole "will it blend" series which makes for instant viewer recognition and will likely appear on the home page of people who liked that series, also I suspect the video maker hoped that the action of the blender would be enough to ignite it (although from the small bit I saw he was very close to it when he turned it on, so maybe not) but it doesn't really matter - if you're trying to be a YouTuber either for money or a hobby, then views and subscriptions are the goal and doing stupid stuff gets you that - especially explosions, it was always going to go bang.

All that typing without reading Drac's reply to my much shorter version 😆
