I've wasted the last 3 hours trying to do the ostensibly simple task of swapping some old Sram Hydro road levers for some new Hydro Road eTap ones.
The new levers very helpfully require a new "red" olive that's pretty similar to the old style silver one.
I've cut the hoses, installed a new silver olive and barb and tightened the hole lot back. After bleeding it there doesn't appear to be any fluid leaking out at the lever / around the new olive.
I've got some of the newer red style olives on order but will I die in the meantime if I ride it?
This is probably the first bike DIY job in 30 years of riding that has almost defeated me - it's way more complicated than it should be, not least because Sram's own manuals don't seem to explain things very well...
