Yeah great that. Gordon's Vat cut made Britain storm out of the recession didnt it- What a great move. Hey ho at least he balanced the public finances....d'oh!
There's going to be less Shimanao goods on the market next year so their prices will go up - apparently.

errr... it did actually. It was widely touted as a good decision. Bit like the scrappage scheme (German initiative IIRC) which also worked. So much so that second hand car prices are through the roof.
have i missed something or aren't we still in recession- whereas over european states are showing growth. There is also a shortage of second hand cars because people arent changing their cars and manufacturing has been cut-hence less second hand nearly new cars.
second hand car values have gone up because there are fewer about- supply and demand
"Will CRC have a sale on in January?" (To paraphrase slightly)
Chances are...
Theres actually going to be MORE Shimano stuff on the market next year due to bike companies reducing stock/production. All the shifters/mechs etc that were due to go on bikes this last year are sitting in clearance houses looking for a buyer now - and its cheap!
have i missed something .......
I think you might have. The UK is pulling out of recession. The previous quarter showed that the UK was barely in recession, this quarter, will probably show an overall growth. Yes you're right that some other European states have been quicker than the UK in pulling out of recession, but that is predominately due their much less reliance on the finance industries - I'm not sure how fair it is to put all the blame for the shift from manufacturing to finance, on Gordon Brown.

"So far in December sales in the three key shopping streets in London – Oxford Street, New Bond Street and Regent Street – are up 10% on 2008, according to the New West End Company (NWEC), which represents retailers there. Sales are also ahead of December 2007, which was an all time record."

"....you might be surprised to know that HSBC is forecasting the UK to have the fastest growth among the large European countries both next year and the year after. It is not at all alone. Goldman Sachs is also positive about UK growth..."
