It will yes but his PSN account will be setup as a EU so downloaded games will work but will try to connect to EU. He can top up with a AUS PSN car to buy AUS downloads.

Least that's how I understand it.

What about games bought in our region (as in physical disks, not downloads).

Will the machine itself be compatible with their power rating too? (Obviously he'll need a power adapter at least).

Yeah well they work here so they'll still work on that machine there.

Will the machine itself be compatible with their power rating too?

No doubt there's an adapter.

I wasn't sure if the machine took it's location from the IP address rather than being coded into the machine itself.

Just found out that games aren't region locked anymore - didn't know that.

My PS4 (bought when I lived in the states) works fine here in the UK.....it obviously has dual voltage circuitry. I was told that the games are region specific but I've not had an opportunity to test that yet. Rather annoyingly, last night I discovered that the DVD bit is still region locked though!

Oddly, Games for PS1&2 are region locked even when played on the PS3 which has no region specific games.

The cynic would suggest it's so they can re-sell all the PS1&2 games for silly money via DL only by-passing the 2nd hand market of cheapo discs.

You will have problems buying PSN credit, the console will be matched to sterling, I had problems for a while as I'm in Euroland and was bought sterling credit.

You can phone Sony and get the machine moved (country was the 1 option that could not be changed on-line, might have changed).

Physical disks are fine, credit needs sorting to 1 country or another - I'm unsure about DLC as I play games about 3 years after release and just buy the cheapo GOTY edition from amazon instead of rip off dlc.
