On Saturday night whilst watching the I'm A Celebrity final me and Wifey were looking at some of the contestants' Wikipedia entries. For Dougie Poynter his achievements included 'winning I'm A Celebrity 2011' a full 20 minutes BEFORE Ant and Dec announced that the phone lines were closed.
Was that just good guess work by Wikipedia or is there something we should know about the show's voting system?
Isn't it edited by members of the public? Could someone have been cheeky?
I was on the press lists for the show and the result was live, and not put out in advance under embargo.
Can members of the public put anything they like up on Wikipedia without any kind of vetting or verification?
Yep- the idea is that it's sort of communally moderated so any errors/BS will get filtered out quickly.
