Router suddenly stopped allowing any wireless connectivity (phones, mbp, mac mini) this morning. Can only connect via cabled PC.

Diags say wireless is okay but something plainly isn't right.

Have rebooted, re-done setup, used different keys, changed channels ... anything else you gurus can recommend?

Router is a TP-Link and maybe only 3-4 months old.

Cheers

Gotta love this stuff...

1. Does your PC (e.g. Mac mini) connect to the wlan? There is a little symbol on the top right of the screen
2. When using a cable can you access the net (e.g. www.google.com)
3. Did you recently do a firmware update on the TP-Link?

Me too!

My laptop doesn't detect any wireless networks. I've rebooted the hub (BT homehub 3 - not old) several times and am confident its working fine. The laptop is detecting nothing - ie not even next doors wireless. I've rebooted it, and checked the WLAN device status - all working apparently....

Odd. Sorry for the Hijack. Any ideas appreciated.

might be a very stupid question, but have you checked that the wireless on your laptop/computer is switched on? is there a button on the side or back that has accidentally been knocked?

PC, Mac Mini and MBP can all connect via cable - and everything works as it should.

Mini and MBP are happy searching for wifi and can see the router, but the password is not being accepted as correct.

Have gone in to router admin 192.168.0.1 and changed p/w and keys but to no avail. Have also changed channels but still nothing.

Haven't done a firmware update.

At 10am I ran router diagnostics and is said wifi wasn't working. So I rebooted everything and it came up as PASS. But still nothing will connect. Not sure if the password side can become corrupted because that appears to be where it's stalling.-

Cheers

Try removing your security from the wifi temporarily and see if you can connect then.

Disabled security and all devices say they are "Unable to connect to ..."

Try updating the firmware (if there is an update) and see if that sorts it.

Have you tried a "hard" reset - there is normally a place to stick a pin in that will do a full factory reset?

yeah it may be a good idea to try defaulting the router and start again.

have you rebooted your laptop - mine sometimes loses it wifi connection and a reboot will fix.
