I have a Panasonic Lumix camera that i would like a wifi sd card for. It would be great if it could upload to my phone. However is a wifi sd card reader a better option?
Does anyone have any recommendations?
I've got a Toshiba flashair in my camera. Seems to work ok. Not super slick but less fiddling that popping the card out.
Ok that sounds good...i should perhaps have got the wifi camera version!!
I seem to recall when cameras came out with built-in wifi, it was to do things like print from camera, or to upload directly to web-based photo storage services. Why would you want to upload your photos to your phone ? Isn't that the most likely item to get lost or damaged ?
From the phone you can then set them to auto backup to the cloud or manually copy them somewhere. That said I still mostly use the laptop for proper back ups and filing. Still nice to have them on the phone. Better for looking at them in the pub in the evening or sticking a few on Facebook.

Rapid sharing in the field? That's the main reason for me...
Have used transcend Wi-fi cards. Cheap, do the job, software on iOS not great but ok for low volume transfers.
For dozens of photos I’d still choose physical connection.
Oooo I didn't realise these had got better. I was after one ages ago but there seemed to be only one, was it "eye-fi" (?) that required a website to work and was a bit rubbish.
I've taken a punt on one of the Toshiba cards, so we'll see what happens. I just want to be able to share pictures taken on the proper camera without having to wait until we're back home with the laptop; sometimes I end up taking pictures on the camera but also taking a few on the phone as well, just for sharing at the time rather than sharing ages afterwards, which is faff...
