Anybody using one and what would you recommend?

I'd like a display big enough to be able to see the time from across the room, doesn't have to be portable, must have mains power (though battery backup would be nice).

I have a Roberts Stream 83i which I recommend highly.

Not even close to being a useful substitute. Unless you're the sort of muppet who goes to sleep wearing headphones, you still need the phone to be amplified, which means sticking it on a dock of some sort, which implies a radio dock.

And the problem being?

I use one of these with my phone and it's brilliant.

The dock charges it at the same time, plus it has that eerie glow light on the underside to make it look like a UFO

Oh, and use the TuneIn app for the radio.

How deaf are you lot?!

I leave my phone in another room and it is loud enough to wake me up (have to get up, if just on my bedside tables I just switch it off and go back to sleep)
