My TV won't connect to the WiFi unless a run an ethernet cable to the router. That's messy as it's right across the floor and I don't want to run an ethernet cable around the walls.

It doesn't connect to the WiFi because of a couple of wall nibs between the two devices.

Is there some sort of WiFi aerial that I can plug into the TV with a short cable that I could place in a slightly better location just past the wall nib?

Yeah. You want a client mode access point.
These are good.

https://connectec.uk/networking/network-devices/wireless-access-points/ruijie-rg-ew1200r-reyee-dual-band-mesh-802-11ac-1200mbps-wi-fi-extender

Takes a LAN Ethernet connection from your TV and bridges it to your existing WiFi .

That's interesting, I didnt know such things existed...a bit like this?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/BrosTrend-Ethernet-2-WiFi-Universal-WiFi-Adapter-White/dp/B0118SP****/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=Ethernet+WiFi+Adapter&qid=1696101391&sr=8-5

Although if the signal is struggling to get through the wall, an ethernet to wi-fi antennae might not help much over the TVs wi-fi aneaaae if its sat behind the telly anyway?

Maybe a powerline adaptor behind the telly would be better, but I have no idea.

I'd make sure it's something you can return, so you can try the other option if needs be.

The WiFi tech in the adapter I linked is likely far superior to the onboard card in the TV. (I’ve had Samsung TV’s with crappy WiFi and running via one of these or similar sorts it)
Still, I expect the OP has the possibility to run a short length of cable for potentially better placement of the WiFi AP too.

If I put my phone behind the TV it picks up the WiFi no problem so it is likely the crappy WiFi card in the TV (LG).

yes a powerline adaptor might work and I might have one somewhere.

If I wanted a short length of cable for better placement of the adaptor, would that be normal ethernet cable?

Yes *i think* you should be able to run a standard ethernet cable from the power line adaptor to the ethernet port on the telly, rather than having wi-fi between the powerline adaptor and telly.

Yep. Just a regular Ethernet cable Cat5/6 RJ45

I'm not a fan of extendors at all, but possibly OK in this instance.

IMO home plug would be a far better if more expensive option

Just check that you are picking up the 2.4  WiFi signal. I had a similar problem and for some reason it was trying to run the 5 WiFi signal.

That will work fine and is what I've done in the past.
