Bovey castle - not been there for a long time but was nice. Mrs keeps mentioning Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons

Ton - not a hotel but a lovely pub. The cavendish arms in Cartmel. Absolutely bloody lovely place. Double cozy with open fires. Great beer. And the restaurant is top notch. If you really fancied spoiling her there's L'enclume 50 yards walk away, for some Michelin starred loveliness

Ton, she's worth it.

The Goring.

Have one of the rooms on the inside, with a balcony overlooking the garden.

There's a cracking restaurant down the hill too called the Cornhouse.

Theres hundreds of really nice hotels in Britain. Narrow it down a bit. Budget? Location, how far do you want to travel from tonshire? grand country house or cosy country pub? Modern chic or old world charm?

Here's a few to get you started

Theres a fair few city hotels in that link but theres plenty that aren't
