Hi all,

Trying to find some kind of barrier for my parents house, to stop the dogs getting from tiles to carpets after muddy walks.
It needs to stretch from a brick wall to the side of a kitchen cabinet, approx 280cm.
Minimum height around 60cm
Needs to fold away as compact as possible (and as easily as possible).
Needs to not be push-over-able by dogs, so ideally fixed to the wall rather than stand alone

This design looks good, can't find one wide enough:

Same for this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pawhut-Retractable-Barrier-Folding-Protector/dp/B07YK47FTQ/ref=pd_di_sccai_6/258-5004403-8993942?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07YK47FTQ&pd_rd_r=763bb690-8a8d-4767-86d6-8a2c156f0ceb&pd_rd_w=W1Gep&pd_rd_wg=dlnyY&pf_rd_p=bee783d4-0910-430a-8054-14da33db5765&pf_rd_r=9DXD6CB9VKZHBCAKNG79&psc=1&refRID=9DXD6CB9VKZHBCAKNG79

Not sure about this type, guess they don't fold up that compact (if at all)

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Duane.

Two of the top ones, attached to either wall that join in the middle and held by a simple latch ?

Nice idea, but due to the layout of the room, really want to have minimal protrusion on the cabinet side when the barrier is folded away - ie majority of barrier folds up to the wall side - if there is some kind of fixed hook on the cabinet side that is fine.

A few years ago but for a toddler, and sometimes to separate him from dogs, we had a hexagonal playpen for which we bought wall mounts. So we used it as a fence between fixed wall positions. When not in use it could be put away to leave just the little wall mounts. Or folded to one side. I think it incorporated a sort of stair gate but you could choose which of the 6 sections to use.

I'm not sure whether this is the exact brand but a quick Google brings up a Lindam one that looks the same.

We had one of those, also used it as a fence across the decking steps. Think it's the third pic in the Op. Doesn't fold up that small though.

I'm keen on something like this for our bifolds.

My Son is at the age where he crawls headfirst off the step and if he survives that likes to eat dandelions or stones

We have something a bit like this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B075898NLN/

It only folds into panels that are about 60cm across, so that is as compact as it goes, but it works well across the 3m gap we have to span to keep our puppy in the kitcken.

Actually, it is this one, it has a little gate that is more use for the 5 year old daughter to get through than the dog as she cant step over it:

OP, two of the top one, either fix the second to the vertical of the first, or a bit of engineering to remove the pivots in the last link each side and join the bars directly.

Could you post the name of that product, please, as it looks interesting for my use, but the preview isn't working for me?

My Son is at the age where he crawls headfirst off the step and if he survives that likes to eat dandelions or stones

Just leave a pile of dandelions and stones on the top step for him.
