anyway

finally got my hands on my new Kona Process

not ridden in anger yet but it looks lovely!,
medium is 33.5lbs on my ebay luggage scales,

swapped the deore brakes for my m4 races
200/180mm discs might be overkill!

feels very stiff out back- landing from drops and down the steps etc
the pikes are super plush and stiff too

the 2.4 maxxis are big beasts and felt draggy on the rear
cant comment on 650bishness really just feel like a bike tbh

Nice that. Not a big fan of kona's but I really like that, especially that really low TT, would suit a lanky sod like me. What shock?

Frames have a nice long top tube and 40mm stem 760 bars are nice

Shock is monarch rt seems OK so far feels god compared to my 08 rp23

Was messing around with bar height and saddle angle

Had a drink to celebrate the new arrival

Saw the title and thought new online bike shop, not sure why you need a dropper with a saddle at that angle, there must be as much movement from front to back of saddle 😉

So... finally got my first proper ride in

managed 50k round wet n windy afan today

very happy, climbs nicely, better than I thought- angles seem spot on, did use the lockout a fair bit on the long W2 fireroad climbs and the 2.4 DH tyres were definately felt on the ups, something lighter and less draggy will be going on when I get the cash, but over all climbs very well for a 153/160mm bike, cleaned all the techy stuff at afan

descending was a blast , handles berms and corners really well, and eats up drops and jumps suspension feels very nice and progressive never noticed bottoming out and the pikes up front are brilliant, stiff and controlled no noticeable brake dive
downsides- the front mech did collect a bit of mud and shifting wasnt great also dropped the chain a couple of times and got wedged between iscg tabs so ill try a narrow wide i think

the ks lev seatpost is nice, although im used to the ball thwacking speed of my gravity dropper, BUT the lever action got very sticky by the end of the ride I think mud got in at the top, will clean it out and stick a rubber boot over the exposed bit, was quite annoying.

Fork seems great not as quite plush as my 44rc3ti but not fiddled with settings yet Less brake dive though and stiffness is certainly an improvement

Wheel size dunno whole new bike so hard to say, at first felt a bit higher on the bike massive tyres too! - counterintuitive when railing berms as felt very well balanced and low c o g, if I'm being honest It just feels like any other bike but a fast one

Not sure if wheel size or angles but climbs well for such a good descender
