New TV. It can see the router but won't connect. Tried entering the password and tried WPS.

Nothing.

Help!

I’ve had this with a few TVs, might be worth doing a factory reset and trying again. Sometimes I have to enter the WiFi password 3 times before it works, don’t know why.

Sony?
Ours did this when we first got it.
Re entered a few times and it worked in the end.
Still refuses to connect to the PC or work with any of the apps from time to time and have to reconnect with the WPS button.

Samsung.

Anyway, it is logging in via the wifi extender, but not the BT Home Hub.

Can you plug in an ethernet cable just to get started?

I’m guessing the tv uses an older generation of wireless e.g. wireless b or g when your router is set to ‘wireless n only’ or similar - i’d look in the router settings to look for wireless compatibility or mode something like that

Ah - edit. Didn't see it was a new TV.  That's odd. However googling Samsung and Wifi does bring up about a million forum posts 😉 Ours gave up eventually but it was 10 years old.

I use powerlines for my TV as they give a much more stable connection

Does the telly get system updates over the aerial service? Try that?

Is the TV both 2.4GHz and 5Ghz? And the routers?

What channel is your WiFi set to use? I've had issues with some devices not being able to connect to higher channels, which are allowed in the UK but not in other parts of the world.

We have two Samsungs at home with a BT Hub. Set your IP as fixed and above 50. We have both ours on .51 and .52 fixed IP. Both wouldn't connect at first.
