Seems odd that anything is up for debate here except the above topic.

I fear that the silence means that atrocities on both sides go unnoticed and the while topic gets ignored.

Can recommend ITN Channel4 News for very good and utterly depressing coverage from all angles.

Quite honestly i'm getting a bit fed up with it dominating every news service - there are plenty of other things going on in the world - good and bad which are worthy of news coverage.

Simply because people will not play nice on the topic and it creates too much work for the moderators who are volunteers.  The first big thread on it had multiple potentially actionable slurs made and was a very polarised argument.  Its a shame but I understand why.  Nothing will be resolved, it will be a nasty row and slurs get thrown around.

I just think it is a shame that we're not able to post videos or at least links to Isreali crimes against Palestinians/humanity.

Because as soon as you do that there will be allegations of antisemitism and a big row and mess for the mods to clean up.

It's far too polarising. You'll never get consensus.

Alpin - you obviously feel passionately about the subject. Instead of posting on the internet about it (which as TJ correctly says solves nothing and can increase the feeling of helplessness and futility), why not volunteer your time and effort into helping do something practical to help? Find an organisation, donate money or clothes, and so on...

I believe other online platforms are available for people who are absolutely determined to shout at each other.  The subject of Israel/Palestine tends to get very shouty with people who need everyone else to see the level of their righteous shoutyness

It’s far too polarising. You’ll never get consensus.

Or even any semblance of respectful discussion of differences

I don't think I'm alone in being relieved that this seems to be the one place one can come and it not be dominating the conversation.
