My mate has just got neg feedback because he refused to send to the buyers "friends" address, only wishing to send to a reg paypal address. Ok its only one neg but its still a poor show.

Got one in similar circumstances. Tell him to post a reply and wear the Neg with pride, if anyone looks they'll see it says "I'm honest and open and unfortunately dealt with a p...k"

Why wouldn't he send it to an alternative address? Struggling to see how that could backfire on him.

Keep up at the back the MF, it's because you are not covered by paypal if you do not send it to one of the paypal payers confirmed addresses. So you send it to "mates" address, buyer claims never received and you are bolloxed.

Its as bad as the "collection" scam.

Proof of posting would be enough to prove it was posted?

Read the paypal t&cs.
it needs to be a trackable service and it needs to go to a registered paypal address of the payee.

collection scam is turning up to collect and then claiming item not received due to the same t&c above.

So you are saying that even if the buyer puts it in writing that he wants it sending to another address and you send it via a provable method, you are not covered?

Tell him you will send it to another address but only if they pay for insured delivery then.

neither will work.

PAyapl/ebay refuse to look into people's pm's to find out about conversations, something about privacy, and anyway you could have had part of the conversation outside of ebay messaging. The only way they can see to be "fair" is to send to registered/confirmed addresses etc.

If you don't want to read the t&c's then don't question my knowledge of them. Otherwise how can you know better than me in order to question my statements? Best to just nod in agreement over my superior knowledge. 😆

Not sure if it still works but if he hasn't left feedback yet then get him to do so but use abusive language. Then complain to ebay and both his and the buyers feedback will be removed. Even if he has left feedback he can still leave a comment on the negative left for him.

Why couldn't matey boy add the address of said friend to his list on Paypal? Hey bingo! No problemo.

Ebay and Paypal are just a giant merry-go-round of getting shafted, IME. Buying? Bend over please. Selling? Bend over again please. Wanting to make a complaint? Good luck with that one. Wanting to reclaim your lost money through an ebay scam? Hang on a minute while we finish laughing.

Grrr....

I don't believe that; I gave a seller a neutral for something I had e-mail proof that they did. They complained, it was removed!

eBay and paypal are both incompetent at their jobs, the systems are shit.

That said I have had negative feedback comments removed and they can look into message correspondence on ebay.

This was suggested to the buyer, he didn't respond to that idea.

Tell them all to **** off and close your account.

I really hope the ebay empire comes crashing down soon.
