I was wondering that....I was nearly out the door, could do with some new trainers and a flat screen..
Didn't someone on here once announce a terrorist attack for this very reason - they'd seen the headline on the top ten on the BBC on the anniversary, or during the inquests or something, from 7/7 and thought it was happening live?

@Globalti - its a spoof thing people do for a laugh (and we've discussed it here before). BBC has a "most read list", I imagine it's reset daily/weekly and people know if they group together and click on a certain old story they get it into that list at which point everyone else clicks on it and it stays top
It does seem to happen quite a lot, I would expect the BBC to be able to update their algorithms to give older stories a lower weighting. But as they seem to be aiming more and more for the celebrity "hello" style magazine content these days they probably see it as a bonus.
