... as sold... for ages...? Riddle me that 😀

I await a passive aggressive comment from a mod, making out like I'm asking the dumbest question of all time. Ta!

My guess is same reason as estate agents leave sold boards up

Personally,I prefer stuff to stay there so that I can look back through the classifieds and see some kind of guide price for various pieces of kit - although I can’t obviously know what the actual sale price was.

On some other boards there is a strict rule against deleting sale adds, even after they’re sold, for this very reason.

It’s obviously necessary for stuff to be marked as sold when it’s no longer available though.

Maintains an archive of values; the better Facebook groups that buy and sell do the same - keep rather than delete.

I don't mind it but I wish they would at least move the promoted ads off the top of the page.

You understand the concept of a promoted ad, yes?

Not much point promoting a sold item though, is there?

Shows the paid-for has enabled the seller to sell their item, encourages more people to use that option. It is annoying but can see why it happens.

Perhaps I can flex my P for premium and have an option to not see stuff that was sold 3 weeks ago as the first item to appear when I check classifieds? Hmmm?

The problem is when you don't delete your old adverts you can't post new ones. I delete mine as soon as the item is sold.

My ad has been there for a few weeks now... mostly because it hasn't sold yet hehe 🙂

Ha ha guys, obviously I meant the premium ads that have been sold still showing. I see no reason why they have to stay at the top

I just scroll straight past the paid for ads now and start looking at the white ones. The blue ones always seem over priced when I did look...

The only people who know why the site does (or doesn't) work in a given way is the site owners. You're not going to get any answers beyond speculation by starting a thread. Of course, if that's what you want to do then that's absolutely fine.

If you have suggestions or feature requests you can submit them via the help form, accessible by the not-very-obvious lifebelt icon bottom-left of the page. (I have a ticket submitted requesting this icon be changed to something more intuitive.)

Would a separate Sold items section be a solution?

Also turns out that the gavel icon is a judge’s not an auctioneer’s.

I usually go through the classifieds every few days to remove any sold featured ads from the top of the page. I've got behind on that but I'll have a clear out later. Also, we are increasing the number of ads you can have at any one time from 3 to 9. I'll let you know when that's rolled out.

While you're here Mark, I've sold a lot of small stuff in the classifieds on here but according to my history I haven't. Did it re-set at some point?
