i thought i had better buy myself another digibox before the olympics started (as my old one had lost it's sound). tis one of these
every so often it just freezes, and i have to unplug it/plug it back in.this has been getting worse, especially today 😡 why does it keep freezing? is there a cure?
i am almost tempted to hit it (that's how i broke the last one/the same model incidentally 😳
thanks in advance 🙂
Was it cheap?
I seem to remember some addage about buy cheap - buy twice?
Or your ariel isnt up to the job?
Lastly - does your's record? If so them they seem get sluggish sometimes as the computer has a lot to do.
Humax is probably the "go-to" brand ime. Google "humax direct" for ex-demo / reconditioned bargains.
couldashouldawoulda i think you have made some fair points there tbh.it was a cheap digibox (under £16) and i have an ariel in my bedroom (no arial socket). i'm just too tightfisted to pay for an expensive box/ariel socket fitting 😳
i can live with it tbh (the digi issue/along with the tightfistedness 😉
"ariel in my bedroom"
That's the problem right there.
Do you have access to your attic? Something like this for £25 (less if you shop around: it doesnt need to be "digital") should world perfectly - even under tiles if aimed correctly.

I have a Hummax which is great but also freezes at times. Their (excellent) support line told me that if its freezing, to re-tune it - but before you do the automatic re-tune, pull the arial lead out and let it retune (picking up no channels), then stick it back in and do a manual re-tune. Check out this site to find the channels you need to tune to for your area: Clicky. Hope it helps - worked for me! If you decide to get another freeview box go for a Hummax, ours is 5 years old now and they still provide uk based support for it - awesome customer service!
