Someone points a camera and people start grinning. Why

It stops their souls being sucked out into the insides of the camera.

It's nice having your photograph taken?

I don't enjoy it!

I may look miserable, with my mouth in a neutral position, but honestly on the inside I'm not too bad 😐

I suffer from looking grumpy even when I'm not so usually try to exagerate a grin. At my wedding the photos mostly came out with me looking OK which is helpful for such an occassion.... I went through a period of purposefully not smiling for photos - thought I was looking enigmatic but the reality was I looked like I was about to attach the photographer.

People look nicer when they smile. Just look at posh spice, she never smiles in photos and she looks like the back end of a bus most of the time.

I can relate to that mudshark
It's this smile shutter feature you get on some cameras now that bugs me now.
Soon I expect some robotic voice to tell me to 'cheer up, it many never happen' 👿

If you had helmet hair would you smile at someone pointing a camera at you?

My son hardly ever smiles for the camera!
Well not with his 'Bricktop' glasses!
