I am on long term sickness which means I cannot cycle or work.
So it's mainly TV or laptop.
There seem to be many regular posters on here.
Sneeky work posts? Working nights? Pesky students? Bloody cash sucking immigrants 😕

Some idiot at the LBS said it would be a good place "to meet likeminded people and sell shit" when I started 3 years ago.

I don't know what sort of person he thought I was... I still haven't sold anything and Wednesday Night Rides are long forgotten.

Still 'here 'cause I learn stuff, i feel I belong and it's good to see how seriously people still take tippy-tapping keyboard fighting.

Cocodomolling my way through today's face pain then back to work tomorrow.

WHAT'S YOUR EXCUSE!?

STW-itis is my affliction.

It's the condition of creating the most boring thread title possible, but imagining hundreds of people will go "Aha, interesting and observant topic!" leading to persistent refreshing to see if I finally have the answer I need. Never happens.

Probably why Woppit's gone off his tits and does what he does.

"Bloody cash sucking immigrants"

Is it possible to be an immigrant on the World Wide Web?

I'm on a day off, supposedly doing DIY.

I mainly visit when at work. My initial interest was in the bike forum, but as I've mountainbiked less and less , I come on the Chat forum for the humour , bitching & shed threads .
Incidentally , my missus now hates me saying"someone on singletrack will know how to do that "

Something to read while commuting, eating lunch, and being present while my daughter watches one of her movies for the umpteenth millionth time - there's only so much Barbie, Strawberry Shortcake, and My Little Pony any parent can take.

I'd rather be working hard at a really engaging and satisfying job. But those that pay me don't seem to be interested in using my skills and effort for anything so I come on here to pass the hours until I ride home.

Oh and I learn lots about how many different viewpoints there can be on any given topic - even if some can be a tad misguided 😉

I got back into riding bikes a few years ago. Built a bike up from old bits from mate's parts-bins and Ebay. Used to always end up here after googling questions like 'how to remove a siezed bottom bracket without a flame-thrower?' etc. Then I deleted my FB and STW became yet another favorite waste of time. I also mainly work from home, and don't have a telly.
