If you use them a lot it could be wear and tear if they are plastic.
If it's just certain things not working how they used to when connected then check there are no firmware/driver updates available.

Yep as above wear. The plating on the connectors is quite thin. They could also be dirty, lots of opportunity for dust/grime to get pushed in and compacted

Hoover tu suck out large bits, then isopropyl alcohol on a cotton bud should do if it fits.
