Who’s the outfit in the midlands/north who can resole 5:10 shoes?

As it says on the tin, basically. I’ve got a pair of the 5:10 cycling boots, that I hardly ever wore, and the foam midsole has disintegrated. I’ve also got four pairs of Meindle Desert Fox boots of varying ages, a couple hardly worn, and the same thing has happened. I was talking to a couple I met while out walking and they were wearing the same Meindle boots, and mentioned they’d had the same issue, but there was a company that could send them back to Meindle and have a complete refurbishment done of the soles, but they couldn’t remember who the company was.

I can remember reading about someone who could do this on here, so has anyone got the details, please. Many thanks. 😁

Feet First in Chesterfield.

The annoying thing is that 5:10 no longer offer the sole unit to anyone for repairs despite the green washing of their ocean plastic versions.

Feet First use a Vibram sole with the same dot arrangement that seems to be stickier than 5:10 but no less durable.

I use Feet first for my climbing shoes, I drop them off and they always tell me there's a month long wait then after about 10 days I get a call saying they are done. Super good guys.

Don't think anyone can resole 5:10 with a proper 5:10 sole, which is a real shame as the alternatives are no where near as grippy.

Lancashire Sports Repairs is who I've used for this kind of thing. They do a great job but they're not overly fast in turnaround though.

Another +1 for feet First in Chesterfield.  Have had poor quality work from Lancashire Sports Repairs so don't use them any more.

I had mine done at Cheshire shoe repairs (Stockton nr Warrington) with the Vibram sole. If anything more grippy on pedals than 510. They were in the process of getting Unparalleled rubber at the time a few years ago.

Ooh that's interesting, I had no idea they'd started up again outside Adidas. I quite like Adidas but don't quite like the way they've changed 5:10 - I know they're better made but the ever shrinking shoes are doing my head in

New ones are pretty cheap, you're not gonna get someone to resole them for significantly less than the price of new ones surely?

I had my meindls resoled including the midsole via Bramwell - https://www.bramwell-int.co.uk/care-and-repairs/

Pretty sure they went back to Germany

Very happy with repair, boots look great. Included a tin of wax, laces and footbeds - not worth a fortune but a nice touch. The boots were leather 3/4 season jobs. Think I paid 100 quid, not cheap but they will easily last another 15 years I reckon. And new the boots are over 200 mrp

It’s not the actual sole of the 5:10’s, that’s perfectly fine, it’s the foam air midsole that’s falling apart! Looks like they’re probably trash, then. ☹️

@kormoran - that may well be the place; the people I spoke to said their boots went back to Meindle, they paid about £80, apparently. Mine are the Desert Fox boots, the actual desert boots issued for troops in the Middle East. I’ve been wearing them for years, they’re so very comfortable. The most I paid for any of mine was £38, which included a cleaning brush and two pairs of new laces, and I don’t think they’d been worn.

A new pair retail for around £170, so worth getting them sorted and getting another fifteen years or so out of them.

Cheers for the info, it’s very much appreciated, I’ll check them out over the next day or so. 👍🏼🎩

Yeah that was the problem with mine, the mid sole was rotten and breaking up. The actual vibram tread was worn but basically intact.

Think they were away 6 to eight weeks
