I might be wrong, but I don't think I'm alone in thinking that this site is actually better for road related info.
Is the crossover so strong that road.cc doesn't work for many of us?

Road.cc for general bike news, here for fun and frolics

I think this forum is better, even for road related info.
This forum is just older. I remember when there used to be a list down the left hand column of STW with the names of all the people who were currently logged in, if you did that now there wouldn't be space on the screen for the forum.
There are alot more articles over on road.cc and the interaction there seems to take place in the comments to those articles rather than in their forum. Over there you can get some quite lengthy debates under the news or review articles, rather than the on-liner 'oooh shiny bit- want want' comments to the articles here.
