Yeas it's all about me till we get some other posters but I've had a blinder! Helping out at Kids football this morning with a hangover, we lost 2-1 but by far out best performance yet, back home then dog out with Mrs ws for 2 hours, cheeky pint and a bit included, back home, breaded some chicken for effectively cheap chicken kebabs, hot tub listening to the verve of all bands then dinner time! I love family Sunday's!
Been pretty decent here. Took babybgoode to Out of this World in Sheffield (sci fi characters dressed up wondering round the city centre, overpriced fairground rides etc but he enjoyed it), cracking tea cooked by the long suffering Mrs Danny and my friend is coming round shortly to watch the F1
Oh and I have the day of tomorrow so no thinking about work either 🙂
I played in goal for the under 10s this morning. I did well!
Then McDonald's for lunch with my boy. Then watched motogp races and did a Zwift ride. All in all, pretty good.
Rugby tournament with junior this am. He scored his teams first 3 tries!!!
Followed by getting home put chicken in oven and a quick blast on my new gnarmac bike.
Finish dinner and eat
Five hours marshaling the car parking at our club cx race this morning, and one Cornish pasty. Mrs kilo away for a few days so just cooked a big chilli for tomorrow, enjoying a beer watching Wheeler Dealers before a curry for dinner, may be an iced bun for afters - living the dream!
fitted a banister rail for my impending surgery.
visited my mother,
went food shopping
walked the dog,
went for a 2 hour mtb ride.
just eaten half a roast chicken + 5 veg
life is ok.
Had better
No riding this weekend after numb nuts here picked up an already heated pizza stone on Friday night to transfer to the oven having forgotten one vital component..... The oven mitt. Left Hand is blistered and rather painful.
Yep 20 miles on the bike. Wedding anniversary... Cider down the pub / park with the girls. Back home for pizza and wine (macdonalds for lunch)
Bloody love macdonalds. Sod your Kale / spinach / beetroot organic **** food. Give me a burger and I will be happy.
My day started with playing with my little girl, first steps with a walker 😀
Then ride to work to watch the final stages of Rally GB, Evans got his first win, we secured the manufactures and drivers championships too. 8)
Then a 20 mile spin to the in-laws for a roast dinner.
Good day.
Took youngest for a spin around Afan, only the rookie trail but I had a bit of a double take as my Daughter zipped by a couple of lads with Enduro FF lids on her Balance bike and Butterfly helmet ha ha. We managed about 3km but she tells me she needs pedals now, can’t argue with her.
Took the scenic route home as I’d pinched van from work so I can put her seat in the front without Mrs Jay complaining.
Stopped in ‘Old’ McDonald’s on the way back and the 3 year old who could barely walk 20 mins earlier went up and down the playground about 30 times.
Home now, Mrs is reading bedtime stories and I’ll knock up a mini roast in a min to watch with Blue Planet 2, hard to see a downside to today really.
Better than expected! Get up, expecting to spend the day houseworking and minging about wallowing in the misery of having a cold... pick up my phone, son asking me if we can do a local ride. Sod the cold, yeah, lets get out!
We do the ride, it's pretty muddy, I'm sniffing all the way round, he falls in some brambles - second time on spds - but gets up laughing.
End of the ride, we sit in the sun stuffing pasties and cake from the shop on the green. Marvellous.
Got home from a cracking holiday yesterday, half way through the wine importer son-in-laws stash of Douro he left in the fridge, bikes cleaned, almost unpacked.
Thought I was in work tomorrow, turns out it's Wednesday.
And I might have nits for the first time in 48 years, all for new experiences.
🙂
Are you allowed to name them?
Totz awesomz. Bacon sandwich , football and cycling with my boy, lunchtime bike ride followed by leftover cottage pie and beeeans. Snakes and ladders marathon now open fire and handmaids tale with the wife. Might get a nosh later but who knows 😆
Sunday’s weather in the Yorkshire Dales was spectacular to say the least!
What a stunning place it really is.
I don't normally share this sort of stuff on here, but STW can be heart achingly lovely sometimes...
My father has a terminal brain tumour and has been fading away quite rapidly of late but today he was on amazing form and much closer to his former physical and mental powerhouse self.
I'm crying as I write this but today was a great day for us.

Great news, went through this with my dad a couple of years ago. It was tough but the occasional bright slots burn all the brighter.
Dog walked, van washed, car washed and vacuumed, decided to have a drive out for a change and take the bike in the van.
Cheeseburger and Chips from the Butty Van, 12 ish miles on quiet lanes on the bike, home for mum to pop round with some tea.
Hate the dark nights so just gonna take dog out, bath and relatively early night as this week at work is going to be stupidly busy.
100% spot on anagallis_arvensis.
It's horrific but, as you say, the occasional bright slots burn all the brighter
Sold some stuff on Pinkbike and buyer collected ..win!
Drove over to Calderfornia found a cheeky free space and did a nice 25 miler over Stoodley pike and The Blue Pig ... lovely weather
Just topped off with Sunday roast and chocolate fudge cake and ice cream.
Content to say the least
Extra hour in bed ..woken up by a miniature dachshund puppy jumping on the bed licking my ears and biting my toes ..who we were dog sitting overnight along with my lads cousin & her friend who had stayed after spook night in Hexham ..
Rushed said cousin to work after she suffered memory loss & forgot to mention that she was working ( 10 miles up the road) ..got back and her friend had been picked up by her parents who arrived an hour earlier than expected after forgetting the clocks had gone back to also find my lovely missus had cooked me a full English brekkie ..
The dog must have immediate internal combustion as it has had 3 dumps on the lawn ..how can something so small have so much crap inside it ?
The little bugger eventually went home after getting picked up by its owner ( another niece)..who had been moving out from her boyfriend's after one argument too many ..
Afternoon spent watching football on the box / snoozing ..still can't believe it's not bedtime..
Just a nice normal day 😆
I went to work, it was poo pants ??. I have tomorrow off but am currently without bike so that’s not great either.
Pretty damned good.
Trip down to the in-laws where I helped the FIL with a few minor garden jobs...then we went for a blast around country lanes near Coventry/Meriden in his Cobra - you can't help but grin like an idiot when pinned back in your seat with that engine roar! Back in time for some nibbles and beers followed by a roast beef dinner with all the trimmings, a glass of red then home made pud!
Back home now watching bloody Strictly results then Blue Planet...now what shall I have for tea? 😉
After an enforced rest for a week or two, I went out for a ride on my road bike, 76 miles in the sunshine which was very welcome after the almost-constant rain for the past 2 months.
Stayed with my wife at freinds last night, so breakfast with them and their kids, pumpkin carving ahead of Tuesday. 40 minute walk in the sun down country lanes to the 'local' pub, roast and a pint, back home, made some slow cooker food for the week and a Thai green curry soup.
Awesome day on FW DH track, but been shit being stuck in A82 traffic for last 2 hrs....
I spent the day cursing my plumber of 8 years ago as I ripped out a shower unit to find leaks under the tray and amazing waste pipe bodging.
But they played Bela Lugosi's Dead on the radio this evening which cheered me up a lot.
Rode bike. Walked dog. Ate roast pork.
Can't complain.
Out of the pack in a road race on the first lap. Finished. Then six mile walk with the dog. So not bad. And teen 2 got to fly today, which was better than the four day ground school boot camp he's spent his half term doing.
Popped out for a walk on White Edge (behind Frogatt) to look for deer. Had a few close encounters. Came down after dark towards White Edge Lodge with a moon so bright it was casting shadows. Turned round to close a gate behind us and no more than 30ft away was a stag with a couple of hinds. They were remarkably relaxed. A brilliant afternoon/evening.
Did nothing, saw no-one, but got an hour extra sleep.
I overtook all of Chorlton Velo this morning in Didsbury high street. Made me giggle. And I fixed my roof (flexed bicep emoji).
No bikes today, but had a good day shooting airguns, coming second in our FT competition 🙂
I was until I had a trypophobic induced prolapse
A great day, picked my daughter up from hospital and took her out for the day, only doing daft stuff, but it was the first time in a couple of years that we've been able to have some fun. Shame to have to take her back 🙁
Just back from a 4 day city break visiting family in France.
Rounded off our trip today with a wander through the city, snacking on frogs legs from the food market, a nice lunch, and a really smooth flight back. Home, kids in bed and half unpacked.
Work tomorrow though 🙁
Pretty decent day, just back from seeing Ray Mears talk in Newcastle theatre royal - most enjoyable end to the day.
My awesome Sunday started on Saturday evening, when new ladyfriend decided all of a sudden it was actually March 14th and not the end of October! Got treated to a munch, some munch, a couple of pints and a Large G&T! She could be a keeper you know... 😆
Woke up this morning (an hour later than I would have done any other Sunday, so win win) to go riding. Headed down to Staunton with a few friends, got there and was greeted with bone dry trails covered in golden brown leaves everywhere! It was epic!
20 miles, a load of climbing and some of the best trails the UK has to offer later, finished up and headed over to Pedalabikeaway to catch the end of the "Steel is Real" event there. Caught up with a few old friends, had a good chat with Tam from BTR, Dan Stanton and Joe from Starling, before heading home to a well deserved bath. Did myself a pasta dinner, watched Blue Planet 2, now Die Hard 2, enjoying a rather nice bottle of red and about to go to bed soon!
Oh yeah... And tomorrow is my day off...
If Carlsberg did Sundays! 😉
Awesome day as it’s MY BIRTHDAY!!!! New wood fired pizza oven provide by the better half! Tomorrow night is ritual first firing
Got up at 9 ish, washed up (ish) had coffee, wondered if my ex colleagues were safe at work (HMPS), thought, 'ahh, this is the life', did some minor chores, made a bacon/egg/black pud sarnie, went to PC World, came out with a headache, came home, had evening meal & a bottle of cheap plonk.
BTW, what sub £300 lightweight laptop for the Mrs? (shopping/browsing/mailing etc.) Has to have an actual keyboard.

Can only begin to imagine how hard it must be for you both.
Fantastic you both had a great day today.
Having spent seemingly almost all my non- work hours preparing for an Estyn (Welsh Ofsted)inspection for a long time and then coming out the other side looking more than good; Sector Leading in fact, it was decided that a treat to London was due.
Saturday spent in South Kensington looking at beautiful things. The 'treasures' of the Natural History Museum are breathtaking. To be within six inches of the type specimen of Archaeopteryx, to see some of Joseph Banks specimens, Charles Darwins notes, a Dodo, Moon rock and so, so much more. Awesome. The gallery is one of my favorite places.
Dippy has gone on tour, but the whale is a great replacement.
Lunch on Bute Street, reminding me of french France 🙂
Then more beautiful things, this time in the Geological museum, so tactile. Later on a walk around the West End, food in Soho, then a film in Leicester Square.
Today we got an extra hour in bed- whoopee. The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in the sunshine, in Autumn are blummin' BRILLIANT.
All in all, a properly great couple of days to start the half-term holiday. Now all I need to do is sort out which bothies I'm visiting, in what order for the next week or so. Life is good.
Up early to get a quick ride in then off to Didcot on the SS where I left the bike and took the train to Oxford to photograph the new Westgate and take shots for a couple of stories in this weeks paper - both cycling related.
Had lunch in the sunshine then back to Didcot, a couple of beers with mates and home by 6:30 for the start of the F1
Got up earlier than I needed to, chainsawed some branches and split some bigger stuff that I'd cut previously.
Played tennis with the wife and friends for about 3 hours under sunny skies.
Back home, mowed the lawn and one of the paddocks.
Cooked big roast beef tea, flopped in front of stove with red wine and watched blue planet.
Great day.
Eldest daughters driving test this morning.... Fingers crossed!
If Carlsberg did Sundays...
A rare child-free weekend. Woke up late and hungover after a quality Saturday night at a mates birthday bash, cooked us a full breakfast, then went and blew the cobwebs off out in the beautiful, crisp sunshine, with a nice long walk down the coast at Cleveleys with Mrs Binners. I absolutely love this time of year!
Met my Auntie, who lives there, and is one my favourite people in the whole world, for a quick pint, then went home and cooked a massive roast, and gawped in wonder at the amazing Blue Planet
Pretty much perfect! 😀

28km, 1100m of up and not much in the tank for the pedally stages out there, still got around rubber side down and finished some better than last year some worse. On the plus side I didn't snap a chain ring this year and it didn't snow.

We had a massive storm here yesterday making it too dangerous to venture outside so spent the day doing odd jobs around the house then later clearing the two massive branches that landed in our garden from the neighbors spruce tree once the winds had died down a bit. The whole region ground to a halt with no flights, trains, busses or trams running. Didn’t stop two idiots who I follow on Strava risking their life going out for a ride in it for the sake of some extra kudos! 😯
It started poorly - 2.5 Yo throwing up on me .. stuck him on the wee ride and did 10 miles in the fresh air looking at gliders which perked him and me up. Lunch at mothers with niece and sister , Followed later by Gym , Sauna and then Dinner watching Grand Prix .. not half bad
Got home from work at 0430 having had to work an extra hour 👿
Got five hours kip. When I got up I pottered about getting sorted while Mr TW loaded the car. We spent the afternoon on a really enjoyable canal paddle in our inflatable kayaks. Came home, shower, dinner at the pub, Blue Planet and F1.
Good day. I'm also off today as well which is looking good.
