Quite apart from getting the bloody thing into such a situation in the first place, I’m really struggling to see how anyone is going to be able to retrieve it! 🤣

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-somerset-61179935

The top rear car that’s stuck in the tree, (and just typing that sounds weird), is a Mazda CX-5, by the look of it, with rear offside damage, and I’m wondering if it’s intended for a CoPart delivery, in which case it’s well away from where it ought to be.
I cannot think what the driver was intending, Wellington is south of Taunton and off the M5, so I’m at a loss as to what he was doing.
Might need one of those big Skycrane helicopters to lift it out! Anyone got any suggestions?

That was a seriously stressful day at the office. Not a call in you'd fancy making.

Let the tyres down drive forward, unload the cars inflate the tyres, spin around and drive out.

@Drac - I think there’s a bit more to it than that, because the tractor unit is jammed in the lane that’s too narrow, with the trailer also at an angle. I think they might be able to unhitch the trailer and haul it backwards, but you can’t get the cars off unless there’s power from the tractor, and they have to be unloaded in a specific order; they can’t be removed until the trailer is absolutely straight. I see these vehicles being loaded and unloaded every day, and it’s not a job I would ever want to do, you have to get right up onto the top deck to unstrap the car wheels, then drop the deck down to get the car off. It’s a dangerous job; we had a driver slip off the middle deck of his trailer and fall on his back between his and another truck, the other driver happened to hear an odd noise and went to check. We had to clear the car park as quickly as possible to allow the air ambulance to land!

As convert says, the phone call back to head office must have been an ‘interesting’ conversation! 🤣

It was embarrassing enough when I managed to scrape a front wing on a Hyundai Tucson that I took to Bristol for a windscreen change, and caught the wing on a concrete bollard while trying to avoid scratching the paint on an overgrown hawthorn bush!
My boss came and had a look, said, don’t worry, I was expecting a lot worse, and at least you work for the right company! A big sigh of relief from me!

Update - apparently they managed to get it out, but it looks like someone dug the bank away; there’s a couple of extra photos in this article. The truck was from Scotland, and the driver said his boss told him to go that way, despite the driver saying he’d likely get stuck!

Jus looked on the OS map, and I just don’t understand where he could have been going!
