testing just ended with Hammy posting the best time
"So Lewis Hamilton ends the first week in Jerez on top after a late lap of 1m19.583s in the McLaren."

I hope so, but glory runs at the end of a test are one thing, long distance pace is another.

A lot of positives have come out of the recent test for me...
• Good to see Virgin get some useful laps in at last, hopefully Lotus can do the same at the next test.
• The 'Mercedes' (and Scumacher) aren't going to walk away with it (and no other team is by the looks of it).
• Kobayashi is showing he's got genuine pace.
• Both Hamilton and Button seem to be getting to grips with the McLaren

It'll be good when ALL the motor racing starts, especially MotoGP. I do watch F1 but it's no as exciting like like the bikes are. I enjoy F1 because I appreciate what it takes to be at the top and the difference between success and failure is bloody tiny!! I'm an engineer too so I appreciate the geeky side of it too lol.

I'm the same as RD, this season should be ace!

Only slight problem being the British GP.

Yes a glory run at the end , but that could also be a quali test run
and I bet a few others had a go at low fuel glory runs when the rain stopped .

yes I agree they have had some pretty average runs but it is testing and good to see they can chuck in a fast lap

Why?

On a spin-off from the British GP stuff, I hope Donington gets a new leaseholder soon as its my local (and favourite circuit). Rumour is that the BRDC are in with a shout which would be kind of ironic!!

Why because I feel Bernie and his constant threatening of the BRDC and then eventually taking it away to Donnington has now left the best race track for bikes in a sorry state!

Silverstone should have been left to Race cars and Donnington to Motorbikes! Even now the new run off areas for the cars make photography very difficult and I wouldn't want to try and view the racing from either of the tracks these days.
