I want to post a wheel or two.
Suggestions for a courier please. Hermes, for example, seem to think its too big.

Royal Mail/Parcelforce.
It's not a trick question is it?

I used Parcel Pete to send a wheelset recently. Next day, with £250 insurance, was just under a tenner with a 10% discount code*. Just make sure the box is under their max sizes:

The largest size parcel that ipostparcel’s will accept is either:

75cm x 75cm x 75cm

120cm x 50cm x 50cm

150cm x 35cm x 35cm

The maximum weight for these parcels is 25kg.

We do not accept parcels that fall outside of our maximum dimensions.

*Code was either TRYUS470 or TRY244.

Ta.
Last time I used parcel force they wanted £11 something for one 700c rim!
Size can be an issue. 75cm is barely enough for 700c with any decent protection round the edges.

Less than £15 using a wheelbox for a couple of wheels through Royal Mail via Parcelforce I believe.

I sent two mtb wheels, and mech and shifters with Parcelforce (dropped off at the post office) for £12 the other week.

I used UPS via parcel to go. Less than £10 for two 26" wheels in a fairly sizeable box.

26" though so very old hat. Are the parcel companies proffiteering based on the recent expansion of 29ers and mamils riding road bikes?

Just to say, Parcel Pete, really don't care about box size. My last three have been way bigger than the standard size and the guy who picks them up doesn't seem to mind.

It's done on weight rather than dimensions.

I have used them loads in the last month and again this week.

I've used senditnow.com more times than I can remember, for everything from wheels to full bikes. As long as its less than 35kg they are fine. The tip-toeing through the terms & conditions, weighing & measuring etc, on senditnow.com / Hermes can ba a pain in the ass sometimes, when senditnow.com will just do it for a few £ more.
