keeps bees?
anyone
Doesn't put the full question in the subject line?
click bait. its our future
I used to be an apiarist but I gave it up when that paediatrician got attacked
No, but my dad has been for about 15 years, often helped.
Used to be a lot easier than it is now..
Yields are much lower, hive health is more challenging it seems.
Honey is great, extracting it is messy.
I hate to think what the honey they have had cost them if they added up all the kit.
See if there are any other local bee keepers, I'm sure it will be possible to borrow a centrifuge for extracting and a hot knife for taking the cap off the comb. Also useful to get some hands on help when opening the hive up for the first time.
Do expect more flowers and fruit in your garden too!
This thread makes me happy.
Also, honey is nice on Porridge...
And another thing, depending on where you plan to keep them it could be a good idea to check if your neighbours have an allergy to bee stings?
Just passing on my dads experience...
Who's the biggest apiarist on here?  😉

She does
used to. Gave it up when some nice people set fire to my hives.
I just wanna keep bees. I don't wanna let them get away. I like my women like I like my coffee, in a plastic cup.
Get your paws off me you damn dirty apiarist!
