I've given up having an age, only a date of birth. I can never remember my age, because it keeps changing every year.

I failed phone banking security and had my account locked because I got my age wrong. Couldn't get the whippersnapper on the other end to understand that once you get past 40 you try and forget your age.

Was in hospital on Saturday for surgery; anaesthetist asked my age (state secret), told him, response was '....you certainly don't look it'. Never met him before and will, hopefully, never see him again - for the right reasons - but.....I love that man!

I'll be 46 in March.

Tonight I played an ice hockey match, and afterward, the 20-ish year old goalie from the other team said to me (I think it was supposed to be a compliment!):

"Nice play tonight!"

"Thanks," I said, "But I don't feel like I played that well."

"Well, if I can play that well when I am as old as you, I'll be happy!"

"Thanks," I said again. "F.U.," I thought to myself.

SaxonRider: Think well of the 20 year old - I'm sure it was meant as a compliment. Remember when you were 20; 46 was 'well old'!!

Me, 47. A whippersnapper on this thread though not to my kids who call me old, bald and fat (2 of those 3 are true 😡 )

They were talking about Shane McGowan on the today programme and he's apparently 60. Still got all his own teeth. I say "his" - he paid for them so they're his. I was at uni with one of the other Pogues.

63 here and still as keen as ever to ride mountain bikes, off out today in the cold and wind. The past year has seen age begin to catch up with me, but that only seems to fire my enthusiasm to milk every last moment for fun

I was 53 yesterday and judging by the number of care home and funeral feeds I get on my FB feeds, nudging my way feet-first to a hole in the ground! I'm off to do a 66km ultra in the arctic next month - and amongst one of this year's objectives is to do a sub-3hr marathon, provided I can stay injury-free.

63, riding a ebike now, road based Trek Super Commuter, about 70 miles a week at the moment.

Still thinking about getting back out on the trails as I miss it so much.

Would have to be fire roads now though, body can't take the pounding anymore.

Nearly had the full-on cure for aging this morning.

A stupid bitch coming round an open corner on my side of of the road (fully over the white line). She had the low sun full in her face and had her eyes screwed 90% shut to avoid being blinded.
I had to ride into a ditch to avoid being ****ted.
She carried blindly on.

I sat there in the muddy water shaking for ten minutes.
