You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Forecast is indicating wind gusting 49mph on my way home today. Good news is that wind should be behind me. Bad news is about 75% of my ride is under trees.... So I'll either get home in record time, or won't get home at all.
I'm hopeful that the stronger winds over the weekend already shook out any loose branches.
My commute is only about 2 miles but wind in Edinburgh generally has a multiplication factor of 5, even if the anemometer does not reflect this.Â
Sair tempted to get the road bike off the trainer and point it eastward and see what kind of avg speed I get.Â
Depends on what I have for lunch.
We had sausage and lentil casserole last night.
My morning commute from bedroom 1 to bedroom 2 was wind assisted this morning

My trip across the seafront in Lyme was less than pleasant this morning, but I suspect it'll be a lot more grim oop narth.
My commute goes almost directly East-West, so normally I've a head wind going in and get to feel Froome-alike on the way home, pretty calm here at the minute especially in comparison to other parts of the UK.
Forecast was accurate this morning. Rain starting between 7 and 8am, and got halfway before I got light rain. Made it in before it turned heavy.
Commute is mainly under trees here too. Fortunately the bike is an old 90's MTB (with Deore XT shizzle) but weighs the equivalent af a bull elephant with panniers, so wind isn't an issue. Direction is forecast to be cross to head wind on way home. Booo
Yesterday was nice - wind blew me nearly all the way home, just a few strong side gusts in places. WFH today, so avoiding it. Just gotta fix the fence panel that blew down 😖
