Off to pride park later for an afternoon of tear ups! Brother in law and all round good mate is fighting. He's taken the training very seriously and has raised a lot of money for the chosen charity. It's derby v notts fighters all day so could be interesting later on once the beer has been flowing a while....

A lad I know entered it with his Son the other year at Pride Park. When my mate told me, I was shocked and in disbelief. He'd just turned 50 and well built but God knows what he was thinking. Anyhow, he was sparring just before the fight date and cracked a rib so that finished that. He never made it to the fight. Got his name on the flyers though.

I dont get it myself, but each to their own.

Came close to doing some MMA fights but moved away from the club so haven't even trained for 5yrs.

Full contact sparring is fun. Fight club had a point...

It does seem to revolve around who can throw the most haymakers. Hopefully the bro in law will stick to what he's been taught, plus he's had a few cheeky lessons with an ex pro on the sly...

Some proper duels envolved, it's a level up from street fighting.
My son (16yrs) had a go a couple of weeks back against a 23yr old. Broke his nose n was the clear winner. He was proper chuffed!
